Year End Review 2019

At year end I take opportunity to introspect. To suspect my intentions, are they real enough to bring changes to myself, yes, to my life at the least. And then to the people who are around and supportive. Actions speak louder than the words. Hence this review evaluates me how I have flared during past 365 days and nights. Its a serious assignment works as a self appraisal. It helps to see am I still on track towards life goals. I consider the pluses, minuses and lessons the year had brought to me. I share it so that it can be of some inspiration to do similar exercise for readers, with their goals and their aspirations. Time will pass anyway.

Pluses

  • Stayed with my passion pursuit full time and with that decision last 10 months, in spite of tempting offers to be part of others goals, my own ifs & buts and real, practical challenges during the pursuit.

  • Living daily the message I convey. Enjoying the freedom and the problems, it brings along with. Every pursuit has two faces, when you choose the one other would follow. Like buying a new vehicle, while an accident maybe a possible problem.

  • As I start taking actions towards my dreams full-time, finer aspects of them are becoming clearer, helping me arrive my next 5 - 7 year goals.

  • On the routine of going to workplace, my mind never missed it for a split second in last 300 days!, When we are bound by the circumstances which come with its limitation, evaporation of the situation feels like a burden suddenly lifted, making me enjoy the songs every minute.

  • Freedom comes with responsibility. Made me to value my time extremely high as if it is perishable. And fact is, it is. Perishable every second. Use it or lose it.

  • Turned me extremely choosy where I spend my time with. If it is not helping me or the other and if the commercials not involved I would rather spend time in executing my own ideas.

  • That boiled deep within when business mentor-ship from www.deasra.in emphasized on anything given free would not be valued. I had taken that seriously and nearly stopped speaking engagements. Each effort made should be better than the previous otherwise it would not improve me.

  • Given structure to business ideas involving Desi cows A2 products, organic and natural staple

  • Made efforts towards first hand learning of FMCG marketing through SANA Assam Tea brand

  • Entrepreneurship is about meeting people, finding kind of people you wish to deal with, staying away from time consumers and energy vampires, ones who create self doubts.

  • Deliberately cut down such endeavors to safe guard the time required for the new creation.

  • Completed the e-book – RTL – ‘the reminiscences of a true love’ , put on amazon sites.

  • Stayed away from further learning, attending trainings but focusing on implementing the learning

  • Social enterprise projects of SAMAVETA, Steps Ahead group discussions, helped fine tune my future aspirations.

  • Volunteered for Executive committee member of Mysore literature Association

Minuses

  • Promises of people did not materialize in stabilizing the business or at career options.

  • Business loan – in spite of focused efforts, it is taking time beyond imagination

  • Organic cultivation efforts turned futile, due to heavy rains and lack of laser focus

  • Incomplete works on Pitch Deck, CSR fund demand for businesses, online store setup, social media marketing.

Lessons

  • Learning made me stick deeper on why I should be implementing my own ideas.

  • Take what comes to you, naturally, work around it to develop.

  • Any dependency outside of one’s control, make it clearly written to ensure what are your expectations in that area and let others be clear on it. So that association becomes fruitful.

  • Creating a right team is the fundamental in any business endeavors. And it’s a constant challenge.

  • Entrepreneurship pursuit where I was not a decision maker ended with futile efforts. I learnt people do come with alternate agenda, reap others expertise at a steal deal.

  • When endeavors proved negative but has lead me to a better learning about my own SWOT

  • When a task does not complete fully, it’s a waste of time, effort and money. Instead better don’t start an endeavor if it cannot be ended logically.
